Description

The RMG Group is a rapidly growing accounting and business operations services firm, seeking an energetic, highly motivated Project Coordinator (Compliance). 

This is a cross-functional position that requires strong attention to detail, an ability to seamlessly task-switch, superb research skills, and high powered decisiveness.  You will be key in researching, designing, and implementing compliance strategies in tandem with and with the support of the Director of Compliance. This is a role in which you will have room for creative thinking and a strong voice in the process of policy definition and development. 

To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent analytical skills, the ability to extract facts and make assumptions based on ambiguous information, as well as impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal. Prior work experience as a Project Coordinator or a similar role will be an added advantage for the selected candidate. Experience or background in a legal setting, tax law, or compliance is strongly preferred. 

This role will report directly to the Director of Compliance and the President.

Your responsibilities:

  • Project Coordinator

    • Assist the Compliance Director in day-to-day project and client-teams management and operations

    • Maintain full responsibility of planning, organizing, and executing all administrative tasks for a project, and selected Accounting Services teams

    • Report to the Compliance Director on the progress and status of each active project. This includes meeting with key stakeholders, keeping them informed on progress

    • Take ownership of workflows already in place; recommend and develop new workflows where needed

    • Help continuously improve processes with new ideas and inputs

    • Create and maintain documentation

  • Compliance

    • Develop and implement new compliance policies and procedures as required

    • Analyze and update existing compliance policies and related documentation

    • Develop and maintain a compliance database

    • Research and monitor compliance with local, state, and federal laws +  industry-specific regulations

    • Serve as the main point of contact for employees with questions or concerns regarding our compliance policies

  • Accounting

    • In this role, you will gain knowledge in accounting and develop essential accounting industry skills by assisting our team with a variety of tasks

    • Work closely with the Compliance Director to understand the company’s accounting practices

    • Work closely with the Client Services teams to deliver client work accurately and successfully

    • In this role, you will use various accounting softwares and third party applications including but not limited to: QBD, QBO, Bill.com, etc

 
  • Requirements and Qualifications

    • Ability to work remote, this is a fully remote position

    • Strong organizational skills

    • Must have strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and task switch

    • Self-motivated and self-directed; ability to work independently as part of a team

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with superb attention to detail and a problem-solving attitude

    • Analytical thinker

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

    • An interest in learning essential accounting practices

    • Excellent documentation, communication, and IT skills

    • Minimum of 2 years experience in a compliance, tax, legal, or related role (essential)

    • Strong computer skills (G Suite and Microsoft Office)

    • Quickbooks experience (a PLUS!)

    • Bookkeeping experience (a PLUS!)
